Carly Kotynski is a contemporary artist holding a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Queensland College of Art. During her time at art college, Carly experimented in the areas of printmaking, silversmithing, digital media and drawing in addition to her two favourite mediums – painting and sculpture. Sculpture became Carly’s primary studio practice using copper and sponge as her main materials and painting continued to remain an artistic passion along with weaving natural fibers. Carly has held numerous group and solo exhibitions and has been selected a finalist in many art awards. She has public artworks in Brisbane, Townsville and Melbourne and sculptural pieces in many private collections. The natural world and the interconnectedness of all living things have influenced the majority of Carly’s artwork which demonstrate a sensitivity to the delicate balance of life. Her artworks evolve slowly and engage the senses toward the beauty, fragility and resilience of the natural world.
