Water: a life-sustaining resource
The connecting link between the material used in these artworks and the subject matter is water. Water has always been a concern of Australians particularly in the drought we are experiencing and the continual need to conserve every drop of water.
Each piece in this body of work comments upon different aspects of this contemporary issue:
In the Australian climate, drought and water shortage is a constant concern. Attempting to conserve this precious resource can often appear futile.
Interconnecting all of the water supply and distribution resources to ensure flexibility and security of supply is the intention of the water grid.
Puddles of water.
These works all specifically relate to water, ironically however, if the artworks themselves were to come into contact with water they would be destroyed.
